We are happy to share our heritage and patriotic pride in being direct descendants of patriots who took part in the American Revolution.

Captain William Hendricks Chapter meets the NSDAR Objectives through the following activities:

Historical Preservation

Located and marked graves of American Revolution Real Daughter (distinction of the honor paid to DAR members whose fathers were Revolutionary War Patriots) 

Recognizes local restorations – Linn School House and the Owens Station Opera House


Supports DAR Schools through monetary donations and other activities

Sponsors DAR Good Citizen essay contest  

Sponsors national, state, and chapter scholarships

Sponsors American History essay contest Sponsor Christopher Columbus essay contest


Lays a wreath at the Doughboy Monument on Veterans Day  

Donates time and money to soldiers overseas and veterans at home 

Promotes observance of Constitution Week
